About the Song
This song was inspired by growing up in Missouri and canoe trip back home with some friends in 2007. I had recently read a Mark Twain book called "Life on the Mississippi" and was infatuated by the river life he wrote about. Driving through the hills of Missouri and floating down a river there gave me some pride in being a Missourian. I wanted to give a caricature of what I find endearing about it and get a few cheap shots in at some of the surrounding states.
About the Songwriter
I love music, being outdoors, cooking, any board sport, running, beer, and of course my wife and daughter. I've been a 2nd rate musician since I formed my first band the Doughnut Midgets in Junior High (I was the drummer). I'd like to have music be a career someday but I'm afraid I'm too good looking for people to take me seriously.
